Dear Reader,
You're not alone. I know it may feel like that at times, but one of my driving reasons for writing my second novel, Darling, You're Not Alone, was to serve as a letter to you, illustrating this message. Through fiction, I wanted you to know that in reality I am right here, with you. And so are many others. And now that you have either completed my book or made it to this website, I now humbly ask you to write your own to someone else.
Write to a parent. Write to a friend. Write to a coach. Write to a teacher. In a world inundated with texts, emails and push notifications that are fleeting, a carefully crafted letter has the unique staying power nothing else does. Our words live on long after we do.
Your letter can be about anything, and it can be any length. The only thing I ask is for your letter to start with that simple—yet powerful— reminder that "You're not alone." None of us are.
My goal with this letter writing campaign is that that every person that participates will empower someone else to write to their someone. Who then can write to their someone, and write to their someone, and write to their someone, and write to their someone. And it all started with you.
If you are wondering where to start with this letter, do not worry. Below you will see what myself and others have already written.

Dear Kathryn, you're not alone.
The moment I met you in grill, I wasn't sure if you were weird, cool, or if we would be friends. Four years later, I couldn't live without you. You became my best friend real fast at Exeter, and when times got hard and I didn't want to be there anymore, you brought me back to a place that now feels like home. Your smile lights up a room, and your personality is one of a kind. To say you have saved my life a few times would be an understatement. You brought joy back to me when I thought I lost all of it. I just want to say thank you. Thank you for being you, and never changing. Thank you for keeping my head on straight, and helping me stay on the right path to get to where I am today. You were my best friend then, you are my best friend now, and you will always be my best friend. I can't live without you, and I don't want to live without you. You're very special to not only me, but a lot of people, so all I ask from you is that you never change. Keep bringing those positive vibes you always bring. Keep smiling, and always push through adversity. You're due for great things in life.
